Minecraft 1.4.6 pre-release is out now, fixes fireworks, has Christmas surprise

Yep, the latest build of Minecraft isn't in snapshot form and it's not strictly a new version, but it's likely stable enough for you to enjoy some Christmas fun, courtesy of Mojang. Fireworks should now work properly and books can be enchanted.

You can get the pre-release here and, as you would with a snapshot, you'd be wise to check out our guide on installing snapshots and pre-releases. As I reported before after looking into the latest snapshot, this update contains a Christmas surprise, but don't follow that link unless you want a spoiler.
