An inviting package arrived in the post this week from AMD. It says Radeon RX Vega on the box, so we’ve got a pretty good idea about what graphical joy is contained within its cardboard confines…
A new graphics card deserves a quality monitor to go with it. Check out pick of the best gaming monitors around right now.
So here it is, this is the new AMD Radeon RX Vega 64, the first high-end graphics card from the Radeon team in around two years. Not since the R9 Fury X have we seen AMD launch a card aimed at the enthusiast gaming market.
The RX Vega 64 is a high-spec GPU, promising around the same level of performance as the GTX 1080 from the Nvidia side of the graphics divide, but hopefully with a little bit cheaper price tag. Well, so long as the miners don’t go any buy up the entire stock, anyways.
It’s also packed with a bunch of new features that will actually appear in some big new games soon. Wolfenstein II is already set to use some dedicated Vega features, as is Far Cry 5 when that launches.
That all makes this a mighty exciting new release and this is our first chance to get our hands on the brand new Vega GPU architecture. So, what’s in the box?
