Speaking to Geoff Keighley, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has eased any concerns that the Assassin’s Creed series would be returning to an annual release cycle: “You will see some some years, but it will not be every year.” The answer came during an interview on YouTube’s E3 Gaming Show.

The annualisation of the Assassin’s Creed series was cited as one of the biggest reasons for the increase of bugs and lack originality between each release. The release of Assassin’s Creed Origins showed what good a year off could do for Ubisoft’s sandbox series. Naturally, the news that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming out in 2018 led many to assume Ubisoft had returned to their old ways.

After more details and speculation? Here are all the latest details on the Greek-set sequel, including an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey release date.

No need to worry then, as Yves has promised that Ubisoft’s games will arrive when they arrive. Ubisoft Quebec have been working on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for three years, so this is far from a hastily produced game.
