Assassin's Creed Odyssey will have romance options that are available to players no matter which of the two characters they choose, confirming that the series will have same-sex romance. BioWare eat your heart out.
The Assassin's Creed Odyssey gameplay trailer from Ubisoft's E3 conference (which you can watch below) featured a quest undertaken by the player in their guise as female character Kassandra. When Kassandra arrives at her destination, the home of a woman named Kira, she enters into a conversation with Kira and an unnamed male NPC. The male character is clearly pretty unimpressed with Kassandra, but Kira steps in.
Now might be a good time to swot up on the best sex games on PC.
As Kira appeals for Kassandra's help in freeing Mykonos from the Athenians (the game is set during the Pelopponesian War), three dialogue options appear. One of those is appealing for money, while another sees Kassandra take a pacifist stance. The final one, however, has a love heart next to it, and asks "are you two...together?", suggesting that Kassandra has the ability to romance Kira.
That's backed up by a preview from Kotaku, which states that "there are no gameplay-specific differences and even the characters who are available to romance arte the same regardless of who you choose."

The Assassin's Creed Odyseey release date is October 5, 2018, which seems to confirm that the series is returning to its annual release schedule, after leaving a gap between Syndicate and Origins.
