Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update to add more custom loadout slots

One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's most annoying problems will soon be fixed

One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s most annoying problems will soon be fixed, according to Infinity Ward. Art director Joel Emslie has stated on Reddit that a forthcoming CoD: MW update will add the ability to create more custom loadout slots in multiplayer.

“It’s in mainline back at the studio and we’ve been tinkering with it,” he says. “I’m not sure which update its in but I think it’s next. Believe it or not, it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I’m not certain about all this so don’t get fired up on me if I’m wrong.”

Currently, Modern Warfare allows you to create only five custom loadouts. Previous Call of Duty games have allowed you to obtain more slots via in-game purchases or by prestiging. Modern Warfare does not provide these options, though you can now change your loadouts mid-game, which was not possible in previous CoD games.

It’s unclear when the added custom slot options will arrive, nor whether they’ll be added for free or if they will require an in-game purchase or the completion of a challenge of some sort. Regardless, Infinity Ward committing to fixing the problem is promising.

Elsewhere, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s esports events are being scaled back – reportedly because franchises were feeling “overwhelmed” with the proposed schedule. It’s also emerged that the game contains killer chairs, for some reason.
