Released in 2015, Dirt Rally is the fifth in the Dirt series, a spinoff from Colin McRae Rally. It was developed by Codemasters and was very well-received at launch for its detail-oriented approach to rally simulation. Just about anything that can go wrong with your car on a muddy mountain trek can happen in-game, from tires bursting to radiators over-heating to, well, completely writing off your run thanks to one dodgy turn. It’s all there, and there’s no better reason to give it a look if you’ve been curious and hadn’t yet.
Two follow-ups have come out since – 2017’s Dirt 4 and 2019’s Dirt Rally 2.0. Both garnered a similar level of praise to their predecessors.
Humble is always good for gaming on a budget.
