How do you unlock the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer? This advanced vocation has access to the most powerful spells in the entire game, from seismic tremors to meteor showers. However, the Sorcerer is essentially a glass canon, capable of being easily overpowered by melee attacks.
Unlike many of the other advanced vocations, unlocking the Sorcerer in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is easy, and you can do it early in the campaign. One dungeon-spelunking quest is all it takes for this Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocation to be open to you and your pawn. We have a list of the levels when you or your pawn can learn all the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer skills and even some picks for the best ones to equip, but for now, here are the steps to unlock it.
How to unlock the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer vocation
To unlock the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer vocation, you need to complete the Vocation Frustration quest. You must speak with Klaus in Vernworth to gain access to this quest.
To get this side mission, head to the city of Vernworth and continue with the story until Captain Brant gives you a set of tasks in the local tavern. Head to the guild underneath the inn to find Klaus, the guild master. He explains that advanced vocations such as Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warrior and Sorcerer can be unlocked, but he doesn’t have any greatswords and archistaves to hand out. This unlocks a Dragon’s Dogma 2 quest, giving you a chance to find those weapons.
Speak to Roderick at the smithy in the town square near the fountain. He’ll inform you about some pesky goblins who seem to have plundered a shipment containing these items. The shipment can be found in Trevo Mine, one of the locations in the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Monster Culling quest from Captain Brant.
This cave is just a short walk from the western path out of Vernworth north toward the cliffs. The entrance is at the base, and there are lots of goblins to fight inside. Take it slow to prevent your party from being overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
You need to be on the lookout for two black chests in this cave. As you delve into the cave, there’s a path up a ledge. Follow it to find a room with some goblins and a wooden door. The chest near the door contains the archistaff that you need to get the Sorcerer class.
If you want to unlock the Warrior vocation, continue into the cave until you reach a large, multilevel chamber. Fend off the goblins, and close to where you entered the room, you should find the greatsword in another black chest.
Upon returning to Klaus in Vernworth and giving him the archistaff, you unlock the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sorcerer vocation. However, if you also wish to learn this class’s ultimate skills or teach them to your Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn, you’ll need to find the Maister location and finish their requests.
