Final Fantasy XV’s 4K trailer proves the PC has the definitive version

Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix and Nvidia have released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XV’s PC version. There’s not much to it, but it does show off the game’s PC optimisation, which apparently runs it in 4K and at 60fps.

Check out our list of upcoming PC games.

The trailer itself mostly focuses on combat as the FFXV boys take on a few of the game’s monsters. In the first half they have to deal with a pack of Voretooths (or should that be Voreteeth?) before moving on to take on an enormous Garulessa. For those of you unfamiliar with the game, that’s a big yellow wooly mammoth with two sets of horns.

As well as helping you get to grips with the combat and some of the monsters, the trailer also highlights how good the PC version of the game is due to look. You can see the impressive particle effects that make up a chunk of the combat and also the game’s open world in all its beautiful glory.

We spoke to FFXV’s director, Hajime Tabata, at Gamescom, where he told us about some of the challenges he and his team found in bringing the game to PC. They ranged from having to rebuild combat around the game’s first-person mode, to the depressing inevitability of nude mods.
