Forza Horizon 4 might be set in the UK, but it’s not going to take in the usual landmarks spotted in videogames. Edinburgh will be the hub of activity in Playground Games’s new entry to the open-world racing series.
Forza’s version of the Scottish capital will take in its historic new town, including the famous tourism and shopping area Princes Street – presumably now fit for racing rather than clogged with traffic.
The city provides a suitably silly peak for Horizon 4’s property system, too. Earn enough cash through driving and you’ll be able to privately own Edinburgh Castle.

Forza Horizon’s big innovation this year is dynamic seasons, which buries roads in snow to make driving more challenging and opens up new event opportunities – like racing over frozen lakes.
Forza Horizon 4 will also head to Glastonbury, but Scotland’s natural beauty will be the backdrop for plenty of its open-world events. Playground is planning to send us haring around the Glenfinnan Viaduct. That’s the Harry Potter one, if you’re an international reader.
