Forza 7 release date leaks ahead of Microsoft’s E3 conference

Forza 7

It’s a false start for Forza 7, as its release date seems to have leaked ahead of tonight’s Microsoft press conference. Coming from the site that also leaked Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Forza 7 is set to showcase the power of Microsoft’s new Project Scorpio.

According to IndianNoob – who seems to have become this year’s NerdLeaks – Forza 7 will release on October 3, suggesting that Microsoft’s new console is set to launch earlier than many expected. While Forza 7’s appearance will mainly serve to show the Scorpio’s ability to render games in 4K, it will be coming on PC thanks to Microsoft’s Play Anywhere initiative for its first-party titles.

Forza 7 is being developed by usual studio Turn 10, with it focusing on track driving rather than the holiday cruising of the Forza Horizon series. The screenshots are supposed to be 4K but thanks to the nature of most E3 leaks, the images are not of the greatest quality.

I don’t think anyone will be too surprised that Forza 7 is at the show, but its release date suggests that the Scorpio may be arriving ahead of the Christmas shopping release window. With Geoff Keighley also unveiling the system’s price before the show, I doubt it will tempt anyone away from just buying a PC.

We haven’t got too long to wait, as Microsoft’s press conference is set to begin in less than five hours. Let’s see if IndianNoob is able to leak the show’s entire running order ahead of schedule.
