There are four new heroes on the way to Hearthstone Battlegrounds next week. In a post in the Custom Hearthstone subreddit, a lead game developer revealed that new bosses are coming to the game next week, after the game’s open beta arrived yesterday.
User Mdonais on Reddit is a regular part of the Hearthstone community but also happens to be a certified part of the Hearthstone development team. As a result, every so often they drop some new developer knowledge. As such, we know that new playable heroes are coming to the game next week and they’ve already been leaked.
The lead developer Mdonais already commented on the inclusion of Sindragosa and its hero power. There is currently a competition going on within the custom Hearthstone community to design a new boss to come to Battlegrounds, and when discussing a fan-made concept Mdonais confirms Sindragosa is arriving next week. It makes this leak a lot more tangible, and it’s almost certain that these are the accurate details of the new bosses.
Here is what we know about the new bosses (probably) coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds.
SIR FINLEY MRRGGLTON
Hero Power: Power Up!
Cost: one coin
Effect: Give a random friendly minion +1/+1. After you sell a minion, refresh this.
ELISE STARSEEKER
Hero Power: Lead Explorer
Cost: no cost
Effect: When you upgrade Bob’s Tavern get a ‘Recruitment Map’
Recruitment map: Discover a minion from Tavern Tier X. (X being a level of Tier)
BRANN BRONZEBEARD
Hero Power: Battle Brand
Cost: no cost
Effect: After you play a Battlecry minion, give a random friendly minion +1/+1.
SINDRAGOSA
Hero Power: Stay Frosty
Cost: no cost
Effect: At the end of your turn, Frozen minions get +1/+1.
There are some aspects of these bosses which are particularly interesting. Firstly, those with experience in the latest Hearthstone expansion Saviors of Uldum will notice that all these new bosses are the League of Explorers with one missing. Reno Jackson will not be added next week because of some development issues, according to mdonais. It’s likely he will be added in due course.
The other hero of interest is Sindragosa, because of the keyword frozen. There are currently no cards using that keyword in Hearthstone Battlegrounds but there is the freezing mechanic in Bob’s Tavern. Sindragosa may rely on this mechanic, but it does also open the game to including freezing minions.
I, for one, am looking forward to playing both more Hearthstone Battlegrounds and these new bosses. As they’re added you’ll be able to find them in our tier list and hero list along with what we think about their powers.
