As Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out on August 8 developers Ninja Theory have just released a fresh trailer in prep for thed launch. Stick some headphones on, because the incredible sound work done by the team really needs to be appreciated, even if it is mostly a demon doing word burps.

The sound design really is fantastic. Ninja Theory are using a 3D audio technique to replicate the voices Senua – our psychosis-suffering protagonist – hears in her head.
It’s eerie, but Ninja Theory have put in the research to ensure it’s respectful. We’ll find out whether they succeeded there or not soon.
One place they definitely have succeeded, though, is in the visuals. Considering it’s made by a tiny team, the game looks stunning in the new trailer above. The facial capture looks like a perfect fit for a game where story and acting is so important, too. Check it out above.
