Remnant: From the Ashes hits Steam’s August best-seller list

Steam's top new releases include the usual collection of surprises and no-brainers

Valve’s new tradition of running down Steam’s monthly best-selling new releases continues into August, and this month’s list once again includes a broad batch of major publisher releases, high-profile, and a handful of titles you’ve probably never heard of before. Perhaps the most notable success story here is Remnant: From the Ashes – but there are plenty of interesting details besides.

The list – as always – covers the top 20 releases of August, as calculated by revenue generated during the first two weeks of release. As Valve notes in the announcement, this month’s list includes games from 15 different countries, and features 12 development studios which are on Steam for the first time.

Besides Remnant, we’ve also got throwbacks like Age of Empires: Definitive Edition and Metal Wolf Chaos XD, as well as big indies like Sam Barlow’s Telling Lies and Double Fine’s Rad. After news of successful Age of Wonders: Planetfall sales it’s no surprise to see that game here, and Hunt: Showdown’s 1.0 release after Early Access seems to have paid off, too.

Check out the full list below, ordered by release date.
