Space exploration game Outer Wilds wins the IGF Grand Prize

Outer Wilds wins IGF Grand Prize

Last night, the IGF Awards took place, and Outer Wilds became the 17th Grand Prize winner. There’s a good chance that you’ve not played it, because it’s not actually out yet. There is a free downloadable alpha build, though.

It’s a space exploration mystery game where you can commandeer a rocket and go sightseeing around an alien solar system. It was awarded with the Seumas McNally Grand Prize as well as the Excellence in Design award.

Other winners include This War of Mine, which nabbed the Audience Award. It’s deserving, even if it is unrelentingly miserable and stressful, a game about surviving in a war torn country. Take a look at our This War of Mine review from last year.
