Overwatch streamer showcases harassment faced by women

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that people can be terrible to one another in online games. A video published by female Overwatch streamer nweatherservice aims to highlight just how toxic the community behind Blizzard’s first-person shooter can be towards its female players.

A new arena aims to put London at the heart of European esports.

The video, which begins with a short section of game director Jeff Kaplan’s plea for players to be nicer towards each other, is a collection of clips taken from nweatherservice’s stream over the past few months.

All of those clips involve male players attacking the streamer for her gender, often regardless of her in-game performance. You can watch the video in its entirety above, but be warned it contains strong, sexist language throughout.
