Update, November 16: After accidentally posting the announcement early a few days ago, Ubisoft have now officially unveiled Dokkaebi for Rainbow Six Siege.

After somebody goofed and announced Rainbow Six Siege operator Dokkaebi ahead of schedule this week, the time has come for an official announcement, and a snazzy new cinematic trailer for flavor.

Here’s her competition: the best Rainbow Six Siege operators.

Grace “Dokkaebi” Nam will be equipped with a Mk 14 EBR Marksman Rifle and BOSG 12.2 shotgun as primary weapons, with a C75 Auto and SMG-12 MPs as secondary options.

“What makes her even more dangerous, however,” reads the official announcement, “is her trickster streak, and it can get you killed.” We’ll still be waiting a while longer to find out exactly what her hacking can accomplish.

Oh, and the official R6 Twitter has been very kind to us ignorant English-speakers.

Original Story, November 13:Operation White Noise is Rainbow Six Siege’s seventh expansion, and, as is tradition, will add two new operators from the local special forces unit – in this case, South Korea’s 707th Special Mission Battalion. One of these, a hacker named Dokkaebi, was revealed in an official blog post.

The post has since been deleted, but YouTuber Coreross made a video discussing it, and took screengrabs.

Dokkaebi is White Noise’s attacker, previously described as “stubborn and daring.” Her backstory suggests she was recruited into Rainbow Six after hacking her way into their system to introduce herself. You can see what is presumably her gadget in her art work, which might enable her to hack electronics such as cameras.

Operation White Noise will be fully revealed in a stream during the Pro League finals on November 19. Ubisoft have already shown us around the expansion’s new map – Mok Myeok Tower – so it wouldn’t be unusual for an operator to also be teased. Perhaps Dokkaebi’s blog post was published prematurely, in which case it may reappear in the coming days. If not, expect a full reveal during that stream.
