The Resident Evil 3 remake demo is “on the way”

Hopefully it won't be another "1-shot"

Resident Evil 3

You will get a chance to try the Resident Evil 3 remake without buying it, just as with last year’s excellent Resident Evil 2 reimagining. Capcom has officially confirmed that a Resident Evil 3 demo is on the way, in the unlikely event that you’re on the fence about the follow-up to one of the best games of 2019.

“It was written in the STARS,” Capcom says on Twitter, referencing RE’s special police force. “A Resident Evil 3 Demo is on the way. We’ll have more details in the near future!” And we’ll have to wait for whatever details those are, as the publisher has provided no additional info on what to expect from the demo just yet.

The Resident Evil 2 remake had a controversial ‘1-Shot Demo’ with a strict, 30-minute time limit, and no official way to play again once that time is up. Naturally, PC modders quickly removed that restriction, and a version of the demo without the time limit was officially released a few months later.

Hopefully the preview of RE3 is a little more equitable from the start.

We got a look at Resident Evil 3 gameplay ourselves recently, and Jordan says “if you considered Resi 2 the ideal remake then you won’t be let down in the slightest by Resi 3’s makeover.” Capcom aims to dominate the ranking of the best horror games all over again, it seems.
