Way back in June, Croteam announced that it would be funding Serious Sam 4 using a Humble Bundle. But since then, we haven’t seen hide nor hair of the musclebound shooty man. It made one wonder if Croteam was taking it very seriously.
Not to worry! It turns out that the developer has just been making the blooming thing. It’s planned to launch by the end of 2014, revealed an interview on fan site Seriously!
“Although pretty much nothing is known about Serious Sam 4, [CEO Roman Ribaric] has assured that it is planned for release late this year (Q4). And no matter what you have heard.. there won’t be any cowboys or big fluffy creepers in it.”
But wait! There’s more. Croteam is also working on a second project, described by CEO Roman Ribaric as a cross between Portal and The Witness. Quite far removed from Serious Sam, then. First-person puzzling, colour me surprised.
So the studio has gone from being all quiet and secretive to shouting about RELEASE WINDOWS and NEW GAMES. Exciting stuff. Puzzles and bullets are two things I’m rather fond of, so I’m glad Croteam has got me covered.
