11 Bit already did their bit for peace in making This War of Mine, a heartbreaking meditation on the toll of conflict and top management game to boot.
But the empathy that clearly fuelled development didn’t stop at 1.0. The team have since put together a collection of in-game art pieces – and will donate their cut of the Steam sales to War Child.
The charity DLC is made up of unique street art pieces made by an international set of talent. Graphics artists from 11 bit worked with individuals like M-City, Gabriel “Specter” Reese, SeaCreative, Emir Cerimovic, Fauxreel and Mateusz Waluś.
The compositions have been placed throughout This War of Mine, and players who sift for them can build an in-game gallery. They’ll find reflections on the human condition and the state of humanity during wartime.
Unusually, Steam are offering three payment tiers for the add-on – at 79p, £6.99 and £14.99. The content doesn’t vary between them, but those who are willing to donate more have the capacity to do so.
“100% of the proceeds from the DLC go to the charity War Child, who focus on helping children who suffer from conflicts and wars around the world,” write 11 bit. “Thank you and please don’t give up on trying to make this world a better place.”
Think you’ll buy in? Don’t worry about 11 bit – they recouped the development costs of This War of Minein just two days.
