EA have frequently partnered with prolific MMO purveyors Nexon to release free-to-play versions of games like FIFA and Need for Speed in Asian markets, particularly South Korea. We already knew that they were working on a similar entry in the Titanfall franchise, but didn’t think too much of it since it was unlikely the game would make much impact in the English-speaking world.

But Nexon have revealed some key art for the game, and the anime is strong. Unveiled as part of the upcoming G-Star event, the new art features some things that might seem a bit out of place in Titanfall’s traditional, gritty, future military look.
I can certainly buy this ninja punk woman as part of the universe, but what about the young woman piloting an adorable cat mech?
Then there’s my personal favorite, the robot cowboy pilot. Not only is he a robot piloting a robot, he’s also a cowboy. I think I’d be willing to give up some aesthetic cohesion to get this guy in standard Titanfall.
Either way, I’m not going to be too precious about a game featuring giant robots to get a little more anime influence. After all, what could be more natural?
