Watch the best Unreal Tournament players in the world sprint about Epic’s new maps

Unreal Tournament

Bullet Train might point to a breathless future for Epic in VR, but the studio’s present lies with Unreal Tournament, the low key, feedback-focused reboot they’ve been working on in pre-alpha this last year.

You can download it already, and now’s a good time: Epic poured new characters and Capture the Flag maps into it just last week. They also hosted an exhibition tournament at the studio, inviting some of the finest UT players in the world, and posted the highlights on YouTube.

You’ll probably want to watch last week’s trailer, too, which demonstrates that the speed and precision of 1999 – if not the spiky polygons – can still be replicated today.

You can find full archives of last weekend’s matches on the Unreal Tournament YouTube channel. As for what you can play yourself – we’re a few days into the current pre-alpha season, but it’ll run til the end of October. Think you’ll hop in and hop about?
