For those of you living under a rock, the new World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion has finally launched, taking us all on a trip down memory lane. Fans of the game will have already thrown themselves deep into the new content, and even expanded their game with some of the best WoW addons available. But there is always more to explore in a world so vast as Azeroth.
With so much to see and do on the Dragon Isles and beyond, it’s not surprising to see a variety of additions to WoW flood in from the community. And with Curseforge allowing for easy management and installation, these tools can be switched on in a matter of clicks, leading to an even more enriching experience for dedicated WoW players.
You may already have your favourites installed, but for a game of this size, there are sure to be some that have slipped through the cracks. Here are a few more of our favourites that you can download today and beef up your Dragonflight experience.
Profess your talents
Professions are skills you can have within the world of WoW that help you craft custom items. Players coming back to WoW after installing Dragonflight may be surprised to learn that Professions have had a total revamp. These changes include adding “quality” levels to crafted items, specialisations for certain specs, and new gear designed specifically for professions.
Not that we want to ruin all the surprises, but you’re going to want to go in prepared. Thankfully, the CurseForge mod manager has an entire section dedicated to Professions, which you can even narrow down by type. From the Scrap addon which automatically sells all your junk when you pay a merchant a visit, to the FarmHud that turns your minimap into a resource gathering machine, these Profession-specific addons can really make things easier.
Old timers and first timers
If you’re totally new to WoW, or a real hardy old veteran, CurseForge has got your back. Whatever your previous level, there are various addons that are going to make your life easier regardless. Dragonflight adds enough new features and revamps that players of all levels may be feeling a little overwhelmed, so try some of the catch-all addons for questing for a touch of simplification.
Some of the most popular addons on the CurseForge WoW page include Pawn, which helps you compare items with ease, and Questie which simplifies questing by adding all relevant markers to your map. TomCat’s Tours is also popular with players who like to throw themselves in headfirst, as it offers a wide range of quality-of-life elements to quests and roleplay.
For those who feel more confident, there are some Dragonflight-specific addons that will boost your ability to master this new expansion in no time. HandyNotes: Dragonflight alerts you to the locations of treasures and rares as you explore the Dragon Isles, and Leatrix Plus, the popular map enhancement addon, has recently had a Dragonflight update.
Fight like a pro
Although you’ll spend plenty of time chatting, questing, crafting, and riding dragons, you’ll also dedicate a chunk of hours to combat. It’s World of Warcraft, after all – it’s in the name. Fortunately, the CurseForge WoW page allows you to sort addons by type, and combat is a big one. Narrow your search by Boss Encounters, Combat, or PvP and beef up your game.
Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) is a must-have for players of all levels, as it refines the UI and shows a range of important information about raids, boss fights, and events. It can also help with stuttering internet connections, helping you to pick back up where you left off, even if your game crashes. Details! Damage Meter is another foolproof addon that is easy to set up and use. Once installed, you’ll have access to combat analysis, damage and healing data, and more.
However you choose to spend your time on the Dragon Isles, make sure you’re running it with the CurseForge app for Overwolf installed. Discover new addons for Dragonflight and manage them at ease with CurseForge.
