MLG v Proleague StarCraft 2 Invitational concludes tonight, djWHEAT and Day[9] to cast match between soO and Oz

The final match MLG vs. Proleague Invitational between Proleague’s Eo “soO” Yoon Su (Korean Zerg) and Kim “Oz” Hak Soo (Korean Protoss) will be cast tonight from MLG’s Fall Championship venue in Dallas.

While the event was supposed to conclude Monday night, MLG postponed due to the hurricane that hit the northeastern United States earlier this week. Travel delays from affected airports mean that Sean “Day[9]” Plott and Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham will be substituting for MvP casters Nick “Axslav” Ranish and Alex “Axeltoss” Rodriguez. The live-via-replay will go 2 AM GMT / 10 PM Eastern.

The final best-of-seven match of this pay-per-view tournament has a $10,000 winner-take-all prize on the line, and it also offers a window into what we’ll see during the MLG Fall Championship, since their strong performances guaranteed both soO and Oz favorable bracket seeding. While Oz is routinely near to the top of StarCraft 2 tournaments, he’s one of those unlucky players who is never quite good enough to take the grand prize. A victory tonight would be the biggest of his career and a fantastic start to his MLG championship weekend.

On the other hand, soO’s fledgling career is off to a strong start, having made it to the semifinals in his first Starleague as a Brood War player. He had a shaky start to the MvP Invitational, squeaking into the playoffs, but he managed to string together a series of wins over Ty and the superb Flash and Soulkey to reach the final. With one more victory, he’ll prove that his Brood War promise has carried over into StarCraft 2.

You can buy a $10 pass for the event here. We'll be recapping the event once it concludes late tonight.
