Thief's out next week; have a launch trailer to remind yourself

Thief launch trailer

Thief is out of the shadows; here's our Thief review.

Stealthy reboot Thifourf Thief is launching next week. Did you know that? Well you do now, because there’s a launch trailer, and it would be a little silly to make a launch trailer for a game that was months off.

As you’d expect from a game about silently going through buildings, looting everything, it contains loads of fire and violence and noise and overwrought dialogue. Thief comes out on the 25th or 28th depending on which side of the Atlantic you’ve set up shop.

“Be careful. Don’t become a ghost yourself.” “I’ve been a ghost all my life.” Inspired stuff.

So, are you all sweaty with anticipation? Ambivalent? Entirely disinterested?

This is certainly the least excited I’ve been about a Thief game, yet I recall Deadly Shadows being rather divisive when it was about to launch, and it turned out to be bloody superb.

Got my AMD Radeon Gaming Evolved code for Thief last night and it will be fun to play it next week. But it does suck that you can already download the pirated version for the PS3 and Xbox 360, while we that truly support the game by paying for it must wait a full week longer.

hmmmmm. Get the impression this will be a tunneled action game rather then a stealth'em'up. We shall see.

After being on the fence about new Thief now I’m entirely disinterested: fancy graphics and voice acting, zero substance and regurgitated gameplay.
