Is Alone in the Dark on Game Pass? Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2024, Alone in the Dark stars two of Hollywood’s current favorites, David Harbour and Jodie Comer, as the two playable characters, Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood, both in voice and face.
The psychological horror game takes place in the Deep South, as Emily and Edward investigate strange goings on in the Derceto mansion. A remake of the groundbreaking 1992 original, the upcoming game is set the bring the Alone in the Dark series to a whole new audience – a plight which would only be helped if the game is on Game Pass.
Is Alone in the Dark on Game Pass?
Despite the fact that Alone in the Dark is releasing to PC and Xbox, as well as PlayStation, there has been no confirmation that the horror game is coming to Game Pass.
Of course, games come and go on Xbox Game Pass all the time, so we’re not saying that Alone in the Dark won’t be added to the Game Pass library in time. However, there is no evidence suggesting we can expect it any time soon.
This may be due to the fact that Alone in the Dark is not exclusive to Microsoft, which is usually the case for Day One Game Pass games. There are also surprisingly few current THQ Nordic games on Game Pass, outside of Wreckfest and the Remant games, though they are technically from Gunfire Games, which was acquired by THQ in 2019. That said, the Amnesia Collection and Soma, both written by Mikael Hedberg, writer of Alone in the Dark, are currently on Game Pass.
If you do want a taste of Alone in the Dark without parting with any money just yet, there is a free prologue on Steam right now, in which you play as 11-year-old Grace Saunders, set shortly before the events of Alone in the Dark while still set in the 1920s in the Gothic south.
Just because Alone in the Dark isn’t on Game Pass right now doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of great games to enjoy on the platform anyway. Take a look at the best Game Pass games at the moment, as well as the games coming to Game Pass that we’re looking forward most.
