You’ll be able to test a new Battlefield 1 map by the end of the week

battlefield 1 season pass in the name of the tsar

Battlefield 1 fans will soon get the chance to play around in a brand new map. Developers DICE are preparing to upload Lupkow Pass, from the forthcoming In the Name of the Tsar DLC, to the community test environment (CTE).

More shooting, sir? Pick another battlefield from these best FPS games on PC.

Responding to a fan query on Reddit, Dice’s Indigowd said “the goal is to have it out on the CTE later this week. We just need to sort out a few quirks first.”

So, fingers crossed, you’ll be taking flags and shouting loudly in the snow just in time for the weekend. Besides Lupkow Pass, The Name of the Tsar DLC will add five other new maps, the Russian Army, Hussar cavalry, 11 new weapons, a new battalion of female soldiers – the first time women will be playable in Battlefield multiplayer – a new Supply Drop mode, and a few other tweaks. Sounds pretty substantial, all in all.

Lupkow Pass was playable at E3 a few weeks ago, since when the community have been understandably keen to get in on the fun. Here’s some gameplay footage, courtesy of IGN:

The Name of the Tsar is due in September, and will be followed by two more DLC packs. Plenty of life in Battlefield 1 yet.
