You can collect cars in Cyberpunk 2077, and have an AI drive your favourite to you

Your main car will act a lot like Roach

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 offers a big city to explore, and that means you’ll need a ride to get around. We learned last year that you can steal vehicles and drive them through Night City, but now we have a lot more detail on how you can keep and manage your future car collection – and what happens when your favourite vehicle gets lost.

All your apartments will come equipped with garages to store your vehicles. Whichever one you like best – motorcycle or car – can be set as your main ride, which will let you call in that vehicle wherever you are in Night City.

It’s just like the Witcher 3’s Roach, as lead quest designer Pawel Sasko tells VG247. Whatever car you set as your main is “equipped with AI, if you call it, you can see the car driving towards you. So you can see when it arrives, basically. You can see as your motorcycle arrives, you can see as your car arrives. So you can just leave it wherever you want, it can go somewhere, just call it, and AI makes it like ‘bzzt!’, he drives by and waits for you.”

But if you were hoping to get behind the wheel – or stick – of a flying car, you’re going to be disappointed. We heard as much last year, but Sasko does say that there will be some story bits where you’ll be a passenger in an aerial vehicle. Just not in direct control.

You do get Keanu Reeves in your head, though, and that counts for a lot.
