Dragon’s Dogma 2 map – all locations, regions, and points of interest

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 map is four times bigger than the original, so here are all the major locations to keep you on the right path.

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: The Arisen crouches on the back of a griffin as it swoops low through Vermund, taking in the sights of its green lands and bridges.

What are the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map locations? Dragon’s Dogma 2 might appear to share the same setting as its predecessor, but it actually takes place in a parallel world. So, while veterans of Bandai Namco’s classic RPG series may see an echo of old locations in the new regions, the map is entirely different, with new dungeons and other points of interest to explore.

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 map is four times bigger than the original. Given its vast size, the open-world game is rife with hidden areas and rare encounters, including the elusive Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sphinx. Thankfully, we’re here to guide you through all the points of interest and map locations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, from major cities to secret quests. Let’s go.

Dragon's Dogma 2 full map

Here are all the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map locations you need to know:

Regions

The Dragon’s Dogma 2 map is split into two regions:

  • Vermund
  • Battahl

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: The human kingdom of Vermund, characterized by medieval settlements and rolling hills.

Vermund

Vermund is a human kingdom ruled over by the Sovran, a royal lineage of Arisen that have successfully defeated the Dragon’s Dogma 2 dragon over the generations. Its capital city resembles Gran Soren, with high stone walls and ramparts to defend its citizens. However, rumors of a false Arisen have triggered political unrest, as Queen Regent Disa plots to ensure that her son – Sven, an illegitimate heir – ascends the throne.

Beyond the walls of this medieval city, Vermund is a “lush green land” where goblins, bears, and even griffins roam its thick forests and sweeping mountain ranges.

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: The Beastren kingdom of Battahl, characterized by rocky canyons and desert wilderness.

Battahl

Battahl is the desert kingdom of the feline Beastren, the new Dragon’s Dogma 2 race that has adapted to the harsh landscape. Battahl is characterized by desolate scrubland and craggy canyons, though its cities stand as shining jewels in the wilderness.

Unlike humans, the Beastren view Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawns with fear and suspicion – perhaps due to the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dragonsplague spreading through the Rift. Whatever the reason, Battahl’s populace is led by Beastren Empress Nadinia in their worship of the Lambent Flame. An Arisen passing through Battahl should not expect to be welcomed with open arms, though there’ll be plenty of quests to help win the Battahlians over to your cause.

Cities

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: the city of Vernworth

Vernworth

The city of Vernworth is the first major city you’ll discover along your travels and serves as the central hub for much of the early game. You’ll meet Captain Brant here, who’ll give you several quests, and you can also find the castle, home to Disa, who may not be everything she appears to be. It has good transport routes out of the city, including a helpful Oxcart, and sees all manner of people flooding in and out daily.

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: The Sacred Arbor, characterized by intricate stone structures built into the undergrowth.

Sacred Arbor

The Sacred Arbor is the home of the elves, described as a “remote village” far from humans and Beastren alike. Consequently, many elves you encounter here are only fluent in their native language and are unable to converse with either race in their native tongue, so if you do plan to delve into this area, you’ll need to recruit an elven translator or rely on a certain Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn specialization to strike up a conversation.

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: Bakbattahl is shown pinned on the map

Bakbattahl

This is the second major city hub in the game, but unfortunately, there isn’t a fast-travel spot here, so be prepared for the long haul if you want to visit. It’s located in the vast desert region of Battahl, which brings its own challenges. We’d recommend not trying to head here until you’re around level 25 or higher. With that aside, Bakbattahl is a fruitful area with plentiful Dragon’s Dogma 2 missions and side quests and you’ll spend a portion of the story in this city, too.

Dragon's Dogma 2 map: Checkpoint Rest Town

Checkpoint Rest Town

Checkpoint Rest Town lives up to its name, serving as a place to rest and recuperate on the Vermund – Battahl border, before heading into the latter’s dangerous desert climate, and into stronger foes. There are a few amenities here, and you can collect the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb side quest, among others. To the north-west of Checkpoint Rest Town you can find the Mountain Shrine, which houses the elusive and tricky Dragon’s Dogma 2 Sphinx. Can you answer her riddles correctly?

Melve

Melve is a small village that you’ll find yourself in immediately after coming face to face with the Medusa at the beginning of the story. It has a handful of side quests to offer though, so it’s worth sticking around and getting the experience and rewards.

Harve Village

We first stumbled upon this village during the quests that Captain Brant handed us, specifically the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Monster Culling quest. We’ve returned several times since, though, as the residents keep becoming swarmed with enemies and pleading for our help.

Volcanic Island Camp

You’ll need to head towards this camp to learn all about the Dragon’s Dogma 2 maisters, specifically the Archer maister. While we won’t spoil any of the other content around this area or how the maister can help you (head to our dedicated guide for that), you’ll want to visit this small settlement.

Now that you’ve familiarized yourself with all the major locations on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map, find out how to reach them with the Dragon’s Dogma 2 fast travel system – it’s less straightforward than you think. We’ve also got the lowdown on Dragon’s Dogma 2 multiplayer if you’re nervous about making the journey alone, as well as some of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 enemies you’ll encounter along the way.
