Google Stadia Founder’s Edition players get to pick their Stadia gamertag first

Google has officially announced the first Stadia package, which will get you into the platform before anyone else. The Founder’s Edition had been leaked by an earlier article, but Google’s Stadia Connect stream has confirmed the limited edition kit will also mean that not only do you get into Stadia before anyone else, you also get to pick your Stadia gamertag before the rest too.

The Founder’s Edition gives you a Chromecast Ultra, a limited edition Night Blue Stadia Controller, a 3 month’s Stadia Pro pass for you and a buddy, and the full Destiny 2 experience. All told that’s around a $300 kit, for $129 and is only available in limited quantities for a limited time.

There will also be a Stadia Base subscription model which will give you free access to the platform, and all you need to do is simply buy the games and play them wherever you can run the Stadia setup. The Founder’s Edition pack will be the first option for Stadia, though contrary to what was said in the earlier leaks, Google seems to suggest that the Stadia Base sub will also be released sometime this year. But the Stadia Pro sub is the top tier, offering you full 4K, HDR, 60fps gaming, while the Stadia Base tier will only deliver 1080p gaming.
