Grand Theft Auto 6 briefly appears on artist’s resume

A 3D vehicle artist briefly had GTA 6 included on his resume.

It’s been four whole years since Grand Theft Auto V appeared on PC, and now that Rockstar has released Red Dead Redemption 2 (on consoles, at least), players are naturally starting to wonder about a new GTA. A 3D artist who has worked for Rockstar’s India studio briefly included Grand Theft Auto 6 on his resume, perhaps indicating that work on the next open world carjacking adventure is underway.

Bibin Michael is an artist who has worked on vehicle, weapon, and environmental models for games like DiRT Rally, GRID, and the F1 series, and GTA Forums member ApolloThunder noticed that Michael had listed work at Rockstar India on his resume at ArtStation. Michael said he had created concept vehicles matching real world for GTA 5 and the upcoming GTA 6, a game Rockstar has yet to officially announce. Users have also noticed that Michael is credited in the thank you page for Red Dead Redemption 2, confirming that he has worked for Rockstar.

So, can we consider this confirmation that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in the pipeline as we speak? Well, not really. This has happened before, after all: In 2017, a CV for actor Tim Neff appeared on Breakdown Express, and it included motion capture work on Grand Theft Auto 6. Neff denied having anything to do with the resume, and told us “That isn’t my page, account or resume. I don’t even know that website. I worked on GTA 5 a long time ago haven’t done anything since.”

Other supposed GTA 6 reveals have been revealed to be at least as questionable. In the day since Michael’s resume was spotted, the reference to GTA 6 has been removed, which tends to be what happens whenever Rockstar catches wind of things like this.

So there’s still not much of substance to go on as far as a GTA 6 release date is concerned. We’ll likely have to wait until Rockstar itself is ready to make an announcement before we know anything about the game – if it does indeed exist.
