2019 is drawing to a close and League of Legends patch 9.24 – the last of the year – has arrived in-game, bringing a load of skins, Champion changes, and mystical marksman Aphelios. The LoL fun doesn’t stop there though, as we head into the brand new League of Legends 10.1 patch cycle, which has just arrived fresh for testing on the PBE – and there’s yet another special arrival to the Champion roster.
Seen those rumours about a new LoL Champion that have been circulating? Well, it’s true – Sett, The Boss, has arrived on the game’s testing servers, ready to rumble. Riot’s description reads: “A leader of Ionia’s growing criminal underworld, Sett rose to prominence in the wake of the war with Noxus.” Though he was once a humble contender in Navori’s fighting pits, he’s now notorious for his “savage strength, and his ability to take seemingly endless amounts of punishment.” Check out his splash art, release skin, abilities, stats, and more below.
12 new skins also land on the PBE from various lines this patch. Diana, Olaf, and Trundle get Dragonslayer skins, while the all-new Mecha Kingdoms skin line coming to the game in 2020 makes its first appearance. As well as Sett’s Mecha Kingdoms release skin, Draven, Garen, Leona, and Jax get new looks based on the theme, with Garen getting a Prestige Edition Mecha Kingdoms skin and Jax getting a bit of a rework, with new voiceover and special interactions.
In addition, Janna, Rengar, and Ryze get new Guardians of the Sand skins, and Sylas gets a new Freljord skin. Plus, there are a bunch of new item changes and some pretty big changes to the Eyeball Collection (D3) Rune. Read on to see the latest changes being tested on the PBE.
League of Legends patch 10.1 Release Date and Downtime
League of Legends patch 10.1 arrives tomorrow, January 8. Maintenance is expected to begin at 03:00 PT for NA servers, 05:00 GMT for EUW servers, and 3:00 CET for EUNE servers, and is expected to last around three hours.

Sett, The Boss
- Base HP: 600
- HP per level: 93
- HP5: 9.25 + 0.15 per level

Abilities:
- Pit Grit (Passive):
- Heavy Hands: Sett has basic attacks which alternate between a Left Punch and a Right Punch, always opening with the former. Attack speed increases the speed of both of his punches. Left Punches deal a normal amount of damage, with Right Punches coming out quicker and dealing 5-90 (+15% tAD) bonus damage.
- Heart of the Half-Beast: Sett gains [0.25 at level 1/ 0.50 at level 6 / 1 at level 11 / 2 at level 16] additional health regeneration for each 5% missing health.
- Sett will reset back to a Left Punch if he does not do a Right Punch within 2 seconds of doing a Left Punch. The attack speed of a Left Punch is Sett’s regular attack speed, and the attack speed of a Right Punch is 8 times the attack speed of Left Punch.
- Right Punch base damage is set at 5 per level, hitting maximum of 90 at level 18.
- Knuckle Down (Q):
- No cost
- Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5
- Sett itches for a fight, gaining 30% movement speed for 1.5 seconds while moving towards enemy champions.
- Sett’s next two basic attacks deal 10/20/30/40/50 bonus physical damage, plus 1/2/3/4/5% (+[1% of total AD]%) of the target’s maximum health.
- Haymaker (W):
- No cost
- Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8
- Passive: Sett stores 100% of damage taken as Grit, to a cap of 300 (50% of Sett’s max health). Grit decays quickly 4 seconds after the damage was taken.
- Active: Sett winds up a giant punch in a direction, expending all Grit to deal 60/85/110/135/160 (+25% (+[10% bAD]%) of expended Grit) as true damage to all enemies in the center line. Enemies not in the center line take physical damage instead.
- Sett also gains a rapidly decaying shield equal to Grit expended for 2 seconds
- Facebreaker (E):
- No Cost
- Cooldown: 16/14.5/13/11.5/10
- Sett smashes enemies on either side of him into each other, dealing 50/80/110/140/170 (+60% tAD) physical damage and slowing them by 50% for 0.5 seconds. If Sett grabbed at least one enemy on each side, all enemies are stunned for 1 second.
- The Show Stopper (R):
- No Cost
- Cooldown: 120/100/80
- Ultimate. Sett grabs an enemy champion, carries them forward, then slams them into the ground. All enemies near the impact take 200/300/400 (+100% bAD) (+40/50/60% of the grabbed enemy’s bonus health) physical damage and are slowed by 99% for 1.5 seconds. Enemies take less damage the further they are from where Sett lands.

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PATCH 10.1 LOGIN SCREEN
Every League of Legends patch has its own login screen. They’re usually fairly excellent, and patch 10.1’s is sure to be no exception. With so many new skins and a new Champion added, it’s hard to guess what its theme might be, but given the Mecha Kingdoms Jax rework and Champion skins, it looks likely it could be based on the Mecha Kingdoms line.
