The piratical theme this week comes courtesy of Sea of Thieves’ popular closed beta, and the surprisingly good naval combat in Pillars of Eternity II. Sea of Thieves is so good, in fact, that it makes our list of the finest pirate games ever – others are golden oldies, buried treasure if you will, but some are modern classics. There’s no reason pirates can’t get a contemporary update. I mean, if you think about it, yo-ho was the original yolo.
Elsewhere in the news, the Overwatch League finally has its first female player in the form of the Shanghai Dragons’ Geguri. And, slightly closer to home, we might finally have found the killer of Ben Barrett.
