How do you fancy attaching a deployable charge onto the door that stands between you and your Rainbow Six Siege career and blowing it up this weekend? You can do just that and it won’t cost you a single penny as Ubisoft’s tactical, 5v5 first-person shooter is free starting today – August 16, at 22:00 PDT / 18:00 BST – until August 19, at 13:00 PDT / 21:00 BST.
The game is free on PC via Uplay for that three-day period, giving you access to all of the game’s maps, modes, and operators. All the progress you make with the operators will carry over to the full game should you decide to purchase it, too. However, that isn’t the case if you only purchase the Starter Edition – the cheapest version – so make sure it’s either the Standard, Advanced, Gold, or Complete Edition that you buy if you want to retain your hard work.
And you’ll want to consider throwing some money down if you enjoy your time with Rainbow Six Siege this weekend as all of the digital PC editions are available with a 60% discount from August 16 through August 27.
That Rainbow Six Siege is free until August 19 is significant as that’s the date Operation Grim Sky is due for a full reveal at the Six Major Paris. We already know that it’ll bring two new operators – an American attacker called Maverick, and a British defender called Clash – along with a rework of the Hereford Base map.
If you get into playing as Thatcher over your free weekend then there’s a little bit of bad news as a big Thatcher nerf is on the way with Operation Grim Sky. Throw those EMP grenades to destroy enemy cameras while you still can, you heroes.
Now go and pre-load Rainbow Six Siege so you can get playing it as soon as it goes free – and tell your mates about it, too.
