Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Online mode gets a new update next week, and with it comes the chance to brew and peddle your own moonshine. Suitably called ‘Moonshiners,’ the update introduces a whole new specialist role to try as a bootlegger, as well as new story missions, a new weapon, and the chance to run a bar.
The Moonshiner role is up for grabs for any player with an active Trader character who has advanced to rank five in the Trader progression or completed a sell mission. Once at this point you’ll get to open a Moonshine shack and get brewing, meeting an infamous but helpful long-time bootlegger, Maggie Fike, along the way.
Alongside running a bootlegging business of your own, you’ll get the chance to dive into some new single-player or co-op story missions, based around helping Fike to “get revenge on those who tried to take her down.” You’ll also need to take out a “rival operation” and pick up some new “recipes and techniques that help make your moonshine the best by a country mile.”
In addition, you’ll get the chance to establish an underground bar to get sellin’ your own ‘shine, complete with décor you can customise and the option to add a country band and dance floor to get the festivities going, too.
When does the next Red Dead online update arrive?
According to Rockstar, the Red Dead Online Moonshiners update arrives next week, on December 13. The studio says players can “look for much more” to come when the update arrives, “including Outlaw Pass No. 2, new Moonshiner role unlocks, the new Navy Revolver, additional clothing options and an increase in the amount of outfit slots in your Wardrobe.”
