Smite hits 10 million players; Hi-Rez celebrates by putting Kevin Sorbo in the game

Smite hits 10 million players

It looks like Smite is doing alright for itself these days. The god-on-god MOBA now boasts 10 million players, or at least registered accounts, across PC and Xbox One.

To celebrate the milestone and this Herculean effort, Hi-Rez have only gone and given Smite’s Hercules the actual voice of the tragic demi-god. Okay, not quite, but it’s the next best thing. It’s Kevin Sorbo’s voice.

The star of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (which was basically Xena: Warrior Princess but with a tall, shirtless man) and Andromeda is lending his vocal chords to Smite’s Herc.

On top of the new voice pack, Herc is getting a new skin, too. Retro Herc is the Hercules model from the PC beta.

Both the voice pack and skin are free for everyone in August, as long as you can win 10 PvP matches next month. That shouldn’t be a problem, unless you’re just getting started and are having a tough time. If that’s the case, check out our Smite beginner’s guide.
