Sonic has a rough track record. Beyond the classic 2D platforms, the hedgehog hasn’t had many hits, and very few are unequivocally loved. That said, it’s hard to argue with the contents of the Humble Sonic Bundle 2019, which is offering the bulk of the fast-running mammal’s catalog for all of a tenner.
As with all Humble Bundles, there’s a few tiers. The first tier, going for exactly one dollar, contains Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2 and the accompanying Battle DLC, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic CD, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 – Episode 1. That’s a lot of blue blur for your literal buck. The second tier, currently at just under six dollars, adds the Sonic Generations Collection, Sonic Lost World, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 – Episode 2, and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
The third and final tier is the one that really seals the deal. For ten dollars, you get all of the above, as well as the critically acclaimed Sonic Mania and its Encore DLC, and Sonic Forces. That’s literally half the price of what Sonic Mania costs right now on Steam.
You have a little under 20 days to pick up this bundle, and the default associated charity is Whale and Dolphin Conservation, though as always you can select your own if you’d like your money to go elsewhere.
Sonic made his way to mainstream headlines this year with his horrific re-design in the first trailer for the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie. Given the reaction, Paramount saw to a re-design that is much more in-line with the look of the games.
Sonic The Hedgehog the movie comes out on Valentine’s Day 2019, but you have until December 17 to get most of his gaming career for the price of a cinema ticket.
