Why is Poison Ivy a kid in Suicide Squad?

Poison Ivy appears as a child in Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League because she left a “sprout” behind after her death at the end of Batman: Arkham Knight, and was reborn.

We encounter Poison Ivy as nothing but a small, red flower which rapidly expands to a huge Venus Flytrap with Ivy within. She leaves the flytrap as a child with golden skin and her trademark red hair. It turns out Lex Luthor has had her creating weapons in a LexCorp factory.

The reborn Ivy has no memory of her former life, including Harley Quinn. Her role throughout Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is to protect her plants, as well as being a vendor NPC where you can purchase afflictions. These add elemental damage to your weapons.

In Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, we discover that the same sprout has been cared for, perhaps by people with their own motivations, but that Ivy has escaped during some chaos. Enter the Justice League, who track her down and, well, you’ll have to discover the rest yourself.
