Honk! Untitled Goose Game sales hit a million

The fact that Untitled Goose Game has sold over one million copies seems "impossible"

What’s worse than one horrible goose? One million of them. One million horrible geese exist, as Untitled Goose Game surpassed one million sales, just before 2019 ended. The indie game released three months ago to critical and fan acclaim has been a wild success.

You must have been living under a boulder these last few months if you haven’t heard of, or witnessed a meme, regarding Untitled Goose Game. It’s a game where you, yes you, get to play as a horrible goose with the desire to disrupt a small English village’s day. You bully a child, steal objects, and honk a lot. Like a lot.

In short, it’s great fun for all the family experience, which went somewhat viral, especially when the public found out the Goose was responsible for chasing Margret Thatcher out of office. True story. And so now, the massive success of the small game has a more quantifiable measure outside of Twitter tags, and we know there have been at least one million copies of Untitled Goose Game sold.

The news broke via Cabel Sasser from Panic, the team who published Untitled Goose Game, Firewatch, and the company making the much-anticipated Playdate handheld gaming system. He tweeted that although it “seems impossible”, UGG has sold one million copies.

Funnily enough, we celebrated the Goose in our own way with an award recently. I won’t spoil it for you, but we certainly sing (read honk) their praises.

The game as a whole is a favourite to play with family and friends, and fun fact, it was in part inspired by bothersome pandas. What could be more endearing?
