Battle for Azeroth release date announced

WoW Battle for Azeroth

World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth expansion will release this summer. Blizzard have confirmed that the new expansion will be available from August 14.

Here’s everything we know about World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth expansion.

We already knew that the expansion would release by the middle of September, but it appears Blizzard have bought the date forward from their original plan. The company tweeted the release date, as well as an accompanying trailer showing gameplay from the new expansion.

Among other things, Battle for Azeroth will see the level cap rise to 120, as well as new races – Alliance will get the Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves, while Horde will get Tauren and Nightborne. There’s also all the standard Warcraft goodness, with ten new dungeons, new raid zones, and new quests. On top of that, there’s a new co-op PvE mode called Warfronts, which is intended to resemble classic RTS games.

Dataminers have been hard at work on the Battle for Azeroth alpha builds, and have already uncovered quite a lot – there’ll be new armor sets, a Flying Fel Bat mount, and adorable Vulpera pups for you to summon. Blizzard have also announced a limited Collector’s Edition of the expansion.
