Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 teaser seemingly reveals two new guns

The new clip appears to back up some recent Modern Warfare leaks

Infinity Ward’s now announced the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 release date arrives in less than a week’s time – June 3 – alongside a brand-new teaser trailer. As well as confirming one of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Operators, Captain Price, the clip also gives us a glimpse at some of the FPS game’s (potential) incoming weapons – and seemingly backs up some recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare weapons leaks.

Earlier this week, Modern Warfare Redditor JeaneJWE posted a bunch of leaks found in a recent game update, with details on weapons, ops, and other content potentially headed to the game as part of its fourth Season. Two of the new weapons discussed include the Galil Assault Rifle and the Vector SMG, known as the “Fennec” in-game, according to the user.

Now, fast forward to near the end of the trailer (included below) and you can see what appears to be these two guns in its closing shot. That means, while it’s far from confirmed just yet, players might be seeing the Fennec and Galil in Season 4.

According to the leaks, the Galil will use the same ammunition as the game’s AK-47 assault rifle (7.62 x 39mm), and could feature an intriguing ten-round magazine for 7.62 M67 ammo “designed for increased muzzle velocity, improved accuracy, and superior damage”. Hmm.

The Fennec, meanwhile, is reported to feature different barrel choices for different ranges, one of which includes a “monolithic integrated suppressor” that helps keep the gun “silent and increases range for longer distance stealth assaults”. This weapon appears to have options for 45-round drum magazines featuring .45 ACP ammunition “maximising ammo capacity at the expense of mobility”, as well as .45 Hollow Point for a 12-round magazine.

There’s plenty more to read about possible upcoming content in the Reddit post here.

It’s worth noting these possible new Modern Warfare weapons aren’t confirmed by Infinity Ward at this stage, but given the new teaser, it looks pretty likely we’ll see the Galil and Fennec in-game at some point, perhaps during Season 4. We won’t have long to wait to find out.
