Fable 4 shows up in Microsoft’s own Mixer database

The open secret of Fable 4 spreads even further

Fable 4 still hasn’t been officially announced, but there’ve been so many leaks and rumours over the past few years that it’s easy to forget that. It seems somebody at Microsoft has forgotten it’s still a secret, too – the company’s own streaming service, Mixer, now lists a fourth entry in the series among its database of games.

If you’ve missed all the rumours so far, the Fable 4 developer is supposed to be Playground Games, the studio best known for the Forza Horizon series. Officially, they’re working on an untitled open-world action RPG, and unofficially, that game is expected to be the next entry in the Fable series.

If you type ‘Fable’ into the Mixer search bar now, you’ll find a barren entry for ‘Fable IV’ there, as users on Reddit (via Screen Rant) noted earlier this week. This pulls from an official database of games, so it’s not just some trolling custom stream title – somebody, somewhere at Mixer is prepped for streams of a game called Fable 4.

With E3 on the way in just a handful of weeks, we’ll likely hear more soon. Microsoft’s press conference is set for Sunday, June 9, and you can check the full E3 2019 press conference schedule for details on what to watch from the show.

In the meantime, we’ll keep dreaming of the Fable 4 release date. Now that Microsoft has committed to cross-platform releases between Windows and Xbox, it’s all but certain that the next game will hit PC without delay.
