Here’s your first look at a John Wick crossover with Fortnite

Dataminers have already uncovered evidence of a LTM based on Keanu Reaves' iconic character

May 15, 2019 More evidence for a Fortnite John Wick crossover has emerged.

Fortnite Season 9 has only just started, but dataminers are already hard at work attempting to dig every last detail of the game’s latest build – and it looks like they’ve stumbled on something very interesting. Fortnite leaker extraordinaire Hypex has shared images on Twitter of what seem to be official John Wick skins and challenges, pointing to the likelihood of an upcoming licensed John Wick: Parabellum-Fortnite crossover.

The images show an unprecedented level of detail for Fortnite skins, going further to match Keanu Reeves’ recognisable appearance, neo-noir assassin garb included, than the previous Reaper skin did. His Back Bling in the image, however, inspired by The Continental bank’s criminal currency in the films, fits more into Fortnite’s signature abstract aesthetic.

Intersestingly, Hypex also revealed a female outfit skin, which seems to match one of the ensembles that Halle Berry’s character wears in the third John Wick movie, perhaps indicating that a playable character or costume skin might be forthcoming.

These leaks follow revelations on Twitter last week from prolific miner Lucas7yoshi, relating to a new set of Fortnite Season 9 skins found in a code line. The cosmetics set, dubbed the “AssassinSuit,” and its display name of“John Wick” now appear to be confirmed.

Elsewhere, another dataminer, FortTory, showed off a list of challenges relating to a Limited Time Mode called Wick’s Bounty. The challenges ask players to play (and win) matches of the mode, dealing damage with certain weapons and collecting Gold coins. Details are now becoming clearer, courtesy of Hypex’s leak, and it seems likely that the mode will require players to earn Continental coins by killing enemies, which probably means getting up close and personal in order to make sure you claim your reward.

While a new crossover would be a pleasant surprise, it’s not altogether unexpected. The two most recent Avengers movies have spawned their own Thanos-themed Fortnite crossovers, and with John Wick 3 heading to cinemas later this week, this seems as good a time as any for Keanu Reaves crossover. And let’s not forget, of course, that the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass featured a skin that looked an awful lot like the iconic action character.

If you’re in the market for a John Wick game, it looks like you’re in luck. While the Fortnite mode is not yet confirmed, John Wick Hex, a turn-based tactical game based on the character’s recognisable ‘gun-fu’ was announced last week. There’s no release date just yet, but it looks like we’ll find out more at E3 later this summer.

Elsewhere, Fortnite Season 9 restored Tilted Towers, added in a host of new skins, and introduced a new transportation mode in the form of Slipstreams – massive wind tunnels that criss-cross the entire island. Mr Wick might be on his way, but there should be plenty to keep you entertained until he actually arrives.
