Destiny 2 is on sale for $10

Best co-op games Destiny 2

Update April 30, 2018: we've found a new record low for Destiny 2 pricing.

Best Buy is offering a flash sale on Destiny 2 - across all platforms - for just $9.99.

Just starting your loot-filled adventures? Check out our Destiny 2 guide.

It's the lowest price we've yet seen for Bungie's huge sci-fi shooter, after a similar sale last month was offering the game for $19.99 (see original story, below).

One Redditor points out that Bungie will likely release a bundle of the base game plus its DLC and the inevitable September expansion later in the year, but most on the associated thread have assumed that this rock bottom price reflects a lack of interest in the game. The ever-dwindling number of players turning up to Trials of the Nine each week and the tumbleweeds blowing across the game's Twitch directory are other indicators of the same - none of these measures are terribly reliable in themselves, but taken together, they do paint a picture.

Anyway, if you're interested, head to Best Buy here. Note that it's a flash sale (at least, according to the URL) so there's no telling how long it will stay active.

Original story March 22, 2018: It’s been a pretty bumpy ride for Destiny 2 since its launch last September. Now the mythic sci-fi title is on sale at Best Buy for $20, just six months after its release.

That's an uncommonly steep discount for a triple-A game so soon after launch. No doubt part of the reason is a number of controversies, both big and small, which have alienated loyal players.

Some of the biggest issues Destiny 2 has battled since its launch have included experience rigging, negative feedback for the Curse of Osiris DLC, and a disappointing Dawning seasonal event.

However, as Yazz once said, “the only way is up.” Bungie are determined to claw back their players, and have outlined a number of encouraging changes inspired by community feedback.

Update 1.1.4 is due next week and will quicken the pace of the Crucible. For everything else they've got planned, check out our handy update tracker, for a full briefing on everything coming to the game out to this autumn, and beyond.

You guys either complain about ti costing too much, or you complain about them dropping the price really low before DLC announcements. A few hours of campaign maybe? It's meant to be played online, and it's always kept me entertained.
