Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is the top two bestselling games on Steam

The Digital Deluxe and Standard editions are currently in the number one and two spots in the Steam top sellers list

A Hunter, Warlock, and Titan in Destiny 2

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, the next big expansion for Bungie’s majestic multiplayer FPS, arrives today. It looks set to bring some thrilling new content to the game’s universe, like the return of the Hive, an armour overhaul, and the ‘artifacts’ system from the original Destiny. And it looks like players are excited to jump in – it’s already shot up to the head of the Steam top sellers list.

Check out the list, and there in the top spot – or top two spots – sit the Standard option followed by the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Digital Deluxe Edition (which includes four season passes and other goodies) in second place, at the time of writing.

Sadly, there are no figures on the number of sales, but hitting the number one slot before it’s even playable yet is a pretty impressive achievement. Given this, it’s looking likely that we’ll also see the Destiny 2 player count rocket once the game’s live.

Shadowkeep is the first major Destiny 2 expansion to head to Steam rather than Battle.net, following Bungie’s acquisition of the rights to Destiny and decision to self-publish it earlier this year.
