Dragon’s Dogma 2 Disa’s Plot quest guide

A step-by-step guide to finishing the Dragon's Dogma 2 Disa's Plot quest by infiltrating the castle at night and snagging some evidence.

The Arisen is standing in the audience chamber in Dragon's Dogma 2 Disa's Plot quest.

How do you complete the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Disa’s Plot quest? Captain Brant’s missions are the first time in this epic RPG that the order in which you complete mandatory quests is up to you. You will need to finish them all eventually, yet the simplest quests seem to have the most peril. In Disa’s Plot, Captain Brant wants you to uncover a conspiracy by infiltrating the castle and bringing to him anything you can find to use against the queen regent, all without getting caught.

As one of the first Dragon’s Dogma 2 main quests, getting the intel Captain Brant seeks shouldn’t be too hard, and you don’t need to traverse too far across the Dragon’s Dogma 2 map to reach this objective. However, a few snags could hinder your progress in the RPG game if you’re not careful, so below, we have a step-by-step guide on what you need to do to prepare for the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Disa’s Plot quest and your reward for completing it.

This guide contains story spoilers for the Disa’s Plot quest and anything leading up to it.

How to complete Dragon’s Dogma 2 Disa’s Plot quest

Firstly, you must approach the castle gate at night. It’s to the far south of Vernworth town. Your pawns will separate from you at the entrance as they’re not allowed on the castle grounds. Head inside, and a guard will approach. This is Sonia, the contact Captain Brant gave your description to and trusted to escort you through the castle. Follow her through the Royal Quarter; eventually, she’ll stop at the Guardhouse.

Head inside and spend some time plundering the room. You don’t want to rush out the other door just yet, as there’s a guard walking down the corridor. Keep an eye on his speech text if you want to know where he is. When you leave the room, turn right and carefully make your way across. You’ll see a large chamber to the right near the audience chamber, so head there and venture up the staircase on the right side.

At the top of the stairs, turn left and head down this corridor. Enter the Vernworth Castle Offices, which is the second door on your left. After you pick up the torn letter on the desk, Sven, the son of Disa, will spot you. If you’ve already befriended him by doing the Ornate Box side quest, you’ll get some slightly different dialogue, but the outcome will be the same. After a brief conversation, the guards outside will put an alert that Sven is missing. He discusses his mother’s plot, and advises you to leave quickly before the guards spot you, with a promise to follow-up with further information should he discover any.

Escape through the window and make your way carefully down the side of the building. From there, you should be able to pass through the castle grounds without alerting the guards, but keep your distance just in case. After passing through the gates once more, your pawns will rejoin you. Make your way back to the inn and to Captain Brant to give him the torn letter and finish this quest. You’ll earn a Wakestone and 6,500 gold for your trouble and unlock the next part of the story: An Unsettling Encounter. This might not trigger until later in the game for you, as some of the PCGamesN team needed to wait several in-game hours.

There are several other Dragon’s Dogma 2 quests in Captain Brant’s set of mandatory missions, and they all have their own wrinkles to contend with. Disa’s Plot is one of the first of these requests in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so you’ll likely also want to know how to complete Dragon’s Dogma 2 Monster Culling and Dragon’s Dogma 2 The Caged Magistrate to make more progress in dealing with your usurper.
