League of Legends gets five new FunPlus Phoenix-themed skins for Gangplank, Lee Sin, Malphite, Thresh, and Vayne!

Another second Wednesday, another batch of exciting League of Legends goodies on the way to eyeball. LoL patch 10.8 has gone live, bringing nerfs to some familiar faces from the Champions roster (we’re looking at you Aphelios and Senna) and gorgeous new coven skins for LeBlanc, Morgana, and Zyra. That means one thing – it’s time to get a good look at what’s in store next update for LoL patch 10.9!

First up, there are five new Champion skins to come this patch celebrating the winning team from last year’s LoL Worlds 2019, Chinese squad FunPlus Phoenix (FPX). Gangplank, Lee Sin, Malphite, Thresh, and Vayne each get FPX-themed skins this patch, with outfits and VFX inspired by the champion team’s red, black, and gold colour scheme and logo. Sweet!

“FPX came out on top as the 2019 World Champions last year,” Riot Games says in an update post about the new PBE goodies. “Each of these upcoming skins honours a player from the 2019 FPX roster!” Take a look at these in the Champion skins section below.

While there’s no in-game footage to get a look at just yet, it looks like that Volibear rework has hit the PBE, too, with some files for a teaser – including a new character model. Plus, a Cho’Gath VFX rework has accidentally hit the PBE! Check both out further down the post.

In addition, as usual there’s a sizeable batch of Champion balance changes to pore over, with the next update bringing buffs for Kayn, Lissandra, and Cho’Gath, and nerfs for Wukong, Karthus, Nami, and more. You can take a look at these below, and be sure to keep checking back for more updates as they arrive before they go live next week.

In the meantime, read on for all the latest changes scheduled to drop into the live game when LoL patch 10.9 lands.
