What are Temtem traits?

Having the right trait can boost technique types or prevent status effects, here’s what traits your Temtem can come with

a temtem evolving

Temtem traits are something you’ll want to think about once you get into the more hardcore elements of Crema’s Pokemon-inspired MMO. Traits give your captured creatures a boost to their current stats, or build their resilience against status elements. They are inherited, however, and can’t be applied. If you’re familiar with how a Pokemon’s nature works, you’re in the right place.

If you’re new to Temtem, it’s the latest Pokemon PC game. You wake up in a sleepy town, and then pick a temtem starter to accompany you on an adventure. There are other critters to catch, and they can all be trained to become stronger. If you’d like to read more, you can check out our temtem evolution guide. Once you’ve trained up a strong team of tems, you then take on Temtem dojos (not gyms). One of the key factors to a truly strong temtem, is the trait it possesses.

Throughout this guide we’ll go over what they are, and even pitch in with one of our personal favourites. On that note, here’s an explanation of what temtem traits are and our pick for the best temtem trait.

What are temtem traits?

Temtem traits are randomly applied to your tems when you capture them. Traits can either give them a boost in stats or make them weaker to something else. As Temtem traits are randomly applied to the creatures you come across, capturing them in the wild is a bit of a coin toss.

If you study up on Temem breeding, however, you’ll find that you can influence what trait your temtem comes with by using special items. It’s worth doing, too, as tems acquired through breeding can come with traits that you couldn’t get from capturing them normally. If you want to see a full list of the traits, you can check out the wiki here.

Best temtem trait

Electric Synthesize

This trait heals the temtem when it’s struck with an electric technique. This trait can be earned by Hidody, Nessla, and Lapinite. The reason we’re having so much fun with this is because of the Chain Lightning attack. Basically, it damages everyone on the field including your teammate. With this trait, however, you can turn that to your advantage.

If you really want to kick things up a gear, catch two Nessla’s with this ability and just keep spamming Chain Lightning. Unless you come up against a temtem that’s strong against electricity, that is. If you’re not sure what type is strong against what, you might want to check out our temtem type chart.
