Beyond Good and Evil 2, Far Cry 5, and Elijah Wood: everything we saw at Ubisoft’s E3 conference

Beyond Good and Evil 2

We’ve learned that Ubisoft’s colourful show is always the most memorable of E3. This year, though, they may have been outdone by Devolver Digital. But what’s important are the games on display and Ubisoft didn’t disappoint there.

Below we’ve got a quick round-up of everything we saw that is relevant to us PC gamers. That means we’re ignoring Starlink: Battle of Atlas and the Mario x Rabbids game.

It’s not over yet, so get on top of E3 with our handy schedule.

The Crew 2

Kicking us off is The Crew 2, so anyone who played and enjoyed the first, you’re welcome. With an open world to roam – called Motornation – there will be plenty of driving to do in this sequel. But who needs wheels? The Crew 2 will also have boats and planes to its roster of vehicles.

Pssst, there are also monster trucks.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

South Park is back with its cheekiest game title yet and we also got a release date during Ubisoft’s conference this year. Yep, after many delays, the boys are coming back to our big screens so we can fart at people until we get bored. And then continue farting anyway.

Skull and Bones

No, don’t say it – this isn’t Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. But, between you and me, it’s close enough. Skull and Bones is an online multiplayer pirate ship adventure. If you liked Black Flag and wanted more sailing in your life then you need this like a pirate needs gold.

Transference

Aw, look, it’s Frodo – ahem, I mean, Elijah Wood. The hobbit-man turned up at Ubisoft’s conference to bring us news of a virtual reality game called Transference. He tells us that the game involves entering other people’s minds in order to solve mysteries. Very good, Mr. Wood, very good.

Far Cry 5

Don’t look now but Ubisoft showed new footage of Far Cry 5 during its conference and, oh boy, it has a dog that plays fetch with guns (and people’s throats, incidentally). You really should look at it, by the way, as it also shows off the Guns For Hire system that’ll let you take down the game’s cult with a companion. The dog is the highlight, though. Look at the dog!

If you’re looking to find out more about Far Cry 5 then get all over our article that tells you everything we know so far.

Steep: Road to the Olympics

Steep is Ubisoft’s winter sports game that lets you fling yourself down a very big mountain over and over again. Hopefully you get better each time, find new routes, and eventually impress your friends with your board skills. Now Steep is going to the Olympics with its first DLC. It’s got new modes so make sure to stick your head in and find out more.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Here’s the big one. Ubisoft delighted many people by giving us another trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2. Yes, the sequel that was originally announced back in 2008 (!) has returned. It lives, it breathes, and it has a very London monkey and a pig that swears a whole lot. Also take a look at that sci-fi city. That’s all you need to know, right? Oh, you want a release date. Haha, don’t be silly – not yet.

Assassin’s Creed Origins

Not to be outdone, Assassin’s Creed Origins made another appearance at Ubisoft’s conference after being announced earlier during Microsoft’s. This time, however, we got a proper gameplay walkthrough, which revealed its RPG systems, meaning that you have to level up if you want to kill someone with a single stab. We don’t know if that’s such a good thing.

Anyway, you can watch the video above. And if you want more details on the game then look up everything we know about it.
