Not only that, we have over 22,000 codes up for grabs over the next few days, so make sure to check out all our giveaways. We’ve also got a bunch of new mods for some of the best games on PC to check out alongside a new recommended gaming chip to purchase. Here’s what you should be doing in the realm of PC gaming this weekend…

Win a closed beta key for The Amazing Eternals – we have 2,000 up for grabs!

We’ve given away 1,000 beta codes for The Amazing Eternals before. Now, however, we’re outdoing ourselves by giving away 1,000 beta codes at once. If you didn’t get into this new online shooter (with card game mechanics) then you have a better chance to this time.

Start (or keep) playing the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta until October 9

Star Wars Battlefront II isn’t out for over a month but you can play the beta right now. But only for another few days – until October 9, to be precise. If you pre-ordered it then you’ve been able to play it for a couple days already. For everyone else, as of today, you can jump right in.

Sharpen up your playthrough of Nier: Automata with a new texture pack

Nier: Automata is a game everyone should have played already. If you haven’t or, perhaps you’re revisiting it, then you should consider picking up this texture pack. It makes everything in the game look that much sharper – or, at least it will once it’s finished. Currently in alpha, this texture pack really gets those grains out of the sand.

Buy Intel’s new Core i5 8400, the best chip for gaming right now

Intel unleashed six new core chips this week with all the14nm processing goodness you could want. But there’s one that stands out, at least, it does if you’re a gamer (and, well, of course you are). It’s the Intel Core i5 8400. This is the chip you’ve been looking for – as we say in our review linked above.

Tell Obsidian what kind of DLC they should make for their RPGs

The DLC that Obsidian recently made and released for Tyranny wasn’t met favourably by us or many others who played it. A shame. Hoping to learn from that, Obsidian have put out a survey that lets you tell them what kind of DLC you’d like for them to make in the future. This is how you get what you want out of your RPGs.

Go through our list of Fallout 4 mods and pick the ones you fancy

As we’ve been celebrating the 20th anniversary of Fallout this week it makes sense to jump into the latest game in the series this weekend. But why play it vanilla when there are hundreds of mods to spice it up and improve the experience? We have a list of mods we reckon you should pick – give it a browse.

See if you can beat the Divinity: Original Sin 2 speedrunning world record

You’re probably playing Divinity: Original Sin 2. A lot of PC players are right now. It takes a while to complete, eh? Upwards of 50 hours for most people. But one speedrunner has done the unthinkable. They’ve completed the huge RPG in under 40 minutes. Reckon you can beat them? Give it a go.

Play the restored multiplayer mode for the original Star Wars: Battlefront 2

If you aren’t able to or don’t want to play the beta for the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 then why not play the old game? Its online multiplayer was recently restored so you can turn back the hands of time and play it again. Might as well give it a look – then you can compare it to the new game, see how far the series has come (or hasn’t).

Play Hawken before it shuts down at the end of the year

Aww, this is a sad bit of news. Remember Hawken? It let us jump into the cockpit of big stompy mechs to beat each other up. Pretty good stuff. But it’s approaching five years in age now and doesn’t have so many players now so its servers are being shut down in the new year. Fancy giving it a farewell play this weekend?

Pick up and play Cycle of Warfare, the third DLC pack for Starpoint Gemini Warlords

Developers Little Green Men are outdoing themselves with Cycle of Warfare. It’s thelargest piece of DLC they have ever produced and it greatly expands the scale of their 4X game, Starpoint Gemini Warlords. If you’re an avid player then you’re got to pick it up – full details in the link above.
